There’s now one less alluring happy hour and cheap-burger option at the Walden Galleria.
Bar Louie, a bar-restaurant chain open at the mall since 2008, announced its last day was Jan. 25, via its Facebook page. The Bar Louie corporation announced Monday that it had filed for bankruptcy and was beginning the process of putting itself up for sale. Before the filing, the company closed 38 “under-performing locations to strengthen its operational and financial positions.”
Huddled near the Cheesecake Factory, Gordon Biersch and Texas de Brazil at the Cheektowaga destination, Bar Louie became a household name thanks to its “$1 burger nights” on Tuesdays, happy hour deals and welcoming environment.
The bar-restaurant added a new bar top, 50 seats, a Four Seasons room and applied a new paint job in late 2016, The News’ Samantha Christmann reported.
The closing announcement on Facebook pointed visitors to Bar Louie’s Rochester location, at 98 Greece Ridge Center Drive. The Democrat & Chronicle in Rochester has reported that Bar Louie in Henrietta, a suburb of Rochester, also closed unexpectedly.
