What had been a Catholic Charities diversion center in Niagara Falls is being eyed for conversion by a Williamsville investor as the site for five apartments.
Kalaiselvi Rajendran wants to renovate a house-turned-office at 644 Park Place into the residential complex.
Rajendran, through his LMR Real Property Holdings LLC affiliate, is seeking $94,280 in tax breaks and incentives from the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency that will help finance his $516,000 investment. The Niagara County IDA directors will consider his request during its Jan. 8 meeting.
The building, located near the Pine Avenue and Main Street intersection, has been vacant for the past few years, it had been owned by Catholic Charities who ran its Niagara County diversion program from the site.
Rajendran paid $105,000 for the building, according to documents he filed with the NCIDA.
If approved, the renovations will start later this spring.
